The visit to Titus this year was AMAZING. Every day there is truly interesting in its own little way…
Each morning starts with one of Holiday Inn’s lovely breakfasts. You can choose from eggs, sausages, and even toast… provided you manage to get a turn with the toaster. True, the breakfast does get boring after a few days, but amongst all the people there you can find a ton of friends and all share your little breakfast review.
Once you get back to your room, get ready for skiing! Get dressed in your 4 layers of clothes, scrape all the ice and snow from your car, and then you’re ready to go!
When you get to the mountain, there is a large 3-seater lift which is probably the best out of all of them. Why? Not because it serves the largest number and largest variety of slopes, but because the ride is long from all the stopping, so you have a chance to talk to the person you’re sitting next to, or yell down at your friends and tell them to wait for you.
When you get hungry you can go into the chalet and choose from a wide variety of their foods. I’m assuming they taste good because they line is HUGE. Once you find a seat (again among tons of your friends) you can actually eat it and also share your little lunch review…
When the ski day is done and you return to the hotel, why not go for a swim? You can choose to go to the big pool and swim around or play water polo (which I recommend) or cram in with the 20 other people in the small hot tub that just sit and do nothing.
When that’s all done you can join your friends downstairs where you can talk about your day or listen to music… provided you’re not the unlucky person who has to stay watch in the hallways. I’m glad I’m not an adult, because we kids just go all around the hotel, and none of us have to stay back and keep watch.
After a week of such fun comes the New Year’s count down! You party all night, and then when you wake up the next morning you have to drive all the way home. Thankfully, I can just sleep in the car.
After you’re done with being in the car for 6 hours, you’re finally home! Now you get to look back and be sad about how you’re going to have to go to work… unless you’re a kid of course; we still have another week of vacation! I hope that’s enough time to catch up with my new and old Titus friends on Facebook… But all in all, Titus really is the best place to spend your winter break.
