First, few words about the reservation process for Gore March 2011 Ski Trip:

• Accommodation bookings will start this weekend and will be done in several stages over the period of few weeks. Ski Pass & Lessons & Rentals etc. bookings will commence in early January 2011. March Break dates are 14-18 March 2011. Most rentals are Sunday-Sunday (13-20 March), but some allow Saturday-Saturday or even Saturday-Sunday.
• As always, returning skiers from 2010 Gore March trip will be given the first opportunity to book the same accommodation. Expect my email with instructions over the next few days. I’ll provide instructions as early as tomorrow for the groups that booked with Cristy & Sue (Summit), folks that booked with John Hunter (Summit, Pine Ridge, Gore Village, assorted private homes from John’s list), folks that stayed at the Alpine Lodge, Garnet Hill and other private homes. It will take approximately 2 weeks to sort out the accommodation for returning skiers from March 2010.
• In the second round, I’ll deal with skiers who would like to change accommodation from March ’10.  You’ll need to inform me about your circumstances so we can find a suitable option for March ’11.
• In the third round, it’s all about new skiers or “old” skiers who skipped Gore this year. I’ll provide you with available accommodation options after folks in first 2 groups are looked after.
• There are many more accommodation options in the Gore region now. I sincerely believe that everyone will have a fair chance to find a suitable rental.
• If you’re new to our group and all this seems very weird, you’re probably right. But we managed well for 9 years and this will be our 10th return to Gore Mountain – an anniversary! Please feel free to call me if you have any question!

This was a good lead into the second topic – COMMUNICATION:

• To receive an email about ski trips, you need to be (i) registered user at www.skijanje.ca with a valid email address; (ii) member of SkiGore Google group; (iii) member of SkiTitus Google group
• I don’t update your email addresses anymore. YOU do that.
• Google is phasing out many core functionalities from Google groups. I’ll continue to send messages to SkiGore & SkiTitus groups for some time, but eventually you’ll need to register at www.skijanje.ca. The sooner, the better.
• When creating your User Profile, please use your real name. I want to know who you are. If I can’t figure it out, I’ll simply delete your profile. Use a real email address, otherwise, what’s the point, right?
• I prefer that you call me if you have a question. It’s impossible to answer every email I get. If you email me, please send it to avantura@skijanje.ca and include your best phone number.
• My web strategy is to use www.skijanje.ca as the primary medium for ski trips. Summer fun will be facilitated via www.veslanje.ca (not running yet). General “stuff” will be posted on www.gusev.ca, with links to both. Goggle SkiGore & SkiTitus groups will die a slow death over time. To clarify, www.avantura.ca is devoted entirely to my SPOT Satellite Messenger interests.
• Watch for the news about the SkiForum where you can post information about used gear sale, families looking to share homes, babysitting service for the night of the party, etc
• My main web developer is CERAiT and its chief architect Zoran Cerovic. I don’t know what I would do without him.
